The Club
We are an active club with regular outdoor meets throughout the year.
Members take part in hillwallking all year round and rock climbing in
spring, summer
and autumn. We also have an Alpine meet in the summer and Scottish winter
and
summer mountaineering meets. Also during the winter months we have indoor
social meets usually at Gleaston Village Hall, at these meets we hold
slide
shows and a quiz. We have an outdoor barbecue at the club cottage
every summer. To see the meets list for this year visit the meets
page
The Picture Gallery contains photographs of
club members taking part
in all the above activities.
The club owns a Cottage in the Coppermines valley,
Coniston. We hold
meets there and it can also be booked by outside groups. The cottage is
in a quiet location and is ideally placed for walking on the Coniston
Fells and
climbing in Coppermines valley and on Dow crag. Other renowned Lakeland
fells
and crags are only a short drive away. The club also has a reciprocal
use
agreement with the Bowline club who have a hut in North Wales.
If you are interested in the club, and your own interest is rock climbing,
hill walking, mountaineering or skiing have a look at the membership
section
where joining requirements and an application form are available. Also,
have
a look at the meets list and join us on some of our meets.
