CLUB HUT - COPPERMINES COTTAGE

LOCATION
The cottage is situated in the Coppermines Valley, north west of Coniston village.

ACCOMMODATION
The cottage is divided into two sections with a shared common room. The upper section is for members only with a kitchen/diner and sleeping area for 8. Toilets and showers are downstairs. The rest of me cottage is available for booking with bunks for a maximum of 16 guests. Downstairs there is a cooking / dining area and showers and toilets. Upstairs is the shared common Room and 3 bedrooms with bunks one for eight and two smaller ones each for four. There are mattresses and pillows but please bring your own sleeping bag.
Due to fire regulations, items such as bicycles, canoes etc. must not be stored in any part of the cottage and no candles should be used.

FACILITIES
Two showers and toilets each for members and guests. Two sinks for washing up and a drying cabinet in the lower visitors end. Members have a small spin drier to help dry clothes Lighting and cooking are provided by electricity and gas. There is a cooker, hob and microwave, fridges and small freezer for both members and visitors Pots, pans and cutlery are provided but please bring your own washing up materials and tea towels. Heating is by electric storage heaters and multi fuel stoves in the dining area and Common Room. Wood and coal are available from the garage in Coniston. It is advisable to bring firelighters and matches. All water is heated by Calor gas from the tank in the garden.

CHARGES
A deposit of £30 is required to confirm a weekend booking and £15 for midweek.
The cost is £6 per person per night. Cheques should be made payable to Barrow Mountaineering and Ski Club.
Please note charges include gas and electricity which are major expenses. Please try to economize as much as possible.

Please take all rubbish home with you and clean up before leaving.

Parking should be at me higher level and no camping is allowed as the area around the
cottage is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. (S.S.S.I.)

There is a no smoking policy and no pets are allowed inside the cottage.

Please remember that the cottage is cared for by a small band of dedicated volunteers.
