picture gallery will have new pictures soon. More pictures are always welcome. We had another year without a meet secretary and generally meet attendance was a bit down on last year, the weather played a big part in this.

Ian Matheson has continued to produce our newsletters and our thanks go to Ian for his productions. Some meet co-ordinators have written meets reports but others have missed this, a couple of newsletters have looked a bit lean and given the impression that there is less going on than there actually is. Thanks to everyone who has produced a report and the only advice I can give to meet co-ordinators is do the report as soon as possible otherwise it can feel like writing history.

Ian has agreed to carry on producing the newsletter this year and we look forward to the coming editions.

Secretary Paul Alalouf reported he had a busy year.

The club has received the usual flyers and assorted literature for equipment, meet venues, holidays and accommodation throughout the year. Paul also said he have also taken up a new position at work as part of the senior management team and as such will have an inevitable increase in workload.  With this in mind he said he was going to step down from the position of secretary and also from the committee – at least for the foreseeable future.

 

A vote of thanks was made to Paul for his 6 years as secretary, for his commitment to the job, and for his ability to filter out the important stuff from the noise and chat of our committee meetings. And also for showing us the way forward by inputting the minutes straight into a laptop computer.  

 

Treasurer Steve Nelson said the year to 30th September 2008 was a good one financially with a return to surplus. The net cost of Social Events changed little, as did the interest received on the club’s bank deposit account.  Donations were markedly increased in line with the
