authority given to the committee at the 2007 AGM, while the affiliation fee to the BMC was 17% higher. The Alpine Meet subsidy more than doubled, reflecting the popularity of the event this year, while the subsidy to other meets did not include any major lost deposits in 2008.
Membership Secretary Jim Roskell told the meeting there are no new members for this year. The club membership now stands at 95 members.
Cottage Warden Ian Currie reported that the outstanding 1% of the guest kitchen modifications reported last year has been completed and the ingress of water from the rear wall has been channelled into the under floor drain and has not caused any inconvenience since this work was completed. Repairs and maintenance had been carried out on windows, gutters, stoves and mattress covers, and a new front door has been fitted. Annual checks of the fire alarm system and fire extinguishers have been carried out. Looking forward, the members’ area is probably due for an upgrade and plans are under consideration. The cottage is well used and the wardens are grateful for the support of the committee and those members who attend the occasional work meet; this year free food and drink was provided!
Cottage Booking Secretary Des Slavin reported that in the twelve months since the last AGM there have been only 4 weekends where the cottage has not been used. This, together with the relatively high mid-week take up, means that the cottage is in constant use. In all there were 32 weeks which had one or more days used as a mid-week booking.
