Froggatt meet 17/18 April

A well attended meet on a weekend of excellent weather.

 

John, Roger, Pete K, Pete H, Mary and Laurie arrived on Friday evening and spent a couple of hours climbing on a sunny Froggatt edge, the best effort being Pete H's lead of Valkyrie.

 

Saturday started cool but soon developed into a fine warm day. The same team went to Burbage North and were joined by Derick in the afternoon. Lots of climbs were done on the faces and cracks of this great little gritstone edge.

 

Ged, Steve, Anne, Dawn and Luke arrived and went to Stanage where they also did lots of climbs. In the evening we all went to the Grouse Inn for eats and drinks. Back at the Downes Hut we had brief encounter with another team who thought the beds were theirs and not ours, all was resolved and eventually we all got some sleep on a hot night.

 

Sunday was another fine day, some of us headed for home and the rest of us went to Stanage High Neb for more gritstone pleasure.

 

All up, a fantastic meet; sunny, lots of climbing and good company. This was a subsidised meet and many people said thanks to the club for this subsidy.
