The dinner was prepared and served by the staff at the usual high standard and enjoyed by all.  Free wine and soft drinks were again provided by the Club, which certainly helped.  Betty McGregor organised a raffle in which there were no losers – everyone got a prize.  What could be better?

The cottage had been reserved for our exclusive use but it remained empty, so in order to generate income in future the guests’ quarters will be made available to visitors during our annual dinner weekend.

Langdale meet, Saturday 11th July

Our friends at the Met Office really got this one wrong.  After predictions of dire weekend weather all week, the meet day actually turned out rather fine.  Unfortunately most people were put off in advance (including me).  However the following 4 were rewarded by deciding to go anyway: John & Margaret Harrison, Roger Mellen, & Pauline Smith (prospective new member).

Margaret & Pauline did a circular walk from ODG via Side Pike & Blea Tarn.

Roger & John climbed the classic Bowfell Buttress, followed by some further scrambling.

Cottage logbook

Today I read the log at the Cottage Andy; I was gobsmacked by your harrowing account of the mishap on your Himalayan trip. I hope Sean's recovery has continued and all is well. It occurs to me that your experience might be shared via the club newsletter.
