Wednesday.

 The morning was very dull with low mist hanging over all the mountains and not very inspiring, none of the others fancied going into the mountains today so I set off on a solo walk in the hope that the weather would improve. And – well, you will have to wait for the forthcoming journal to find out more about my adventures on this day!

 

Thursday.

The weather was awful for most of the morning so we all went into town for a wander round the shops & market. By lunch time the weather was beginning to improve so we grabbed our walking gear. After driving up to Pont d’ Espagne this time, we took a short chair lift ride up to Vallee de Gaube, which got us above the clouds – just. From there we walked to the South end of Lac De Gaube from where, through breaks in the clag, we enjoyed stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

On the way back through town we checked the local weather forecast and then wished we hadn’t!

 

Friday.

Another bad day and if the weather forecast was to be believed it was not going to improve today. With this in mind we decided head down the valley away from the mountains and visit Lourdes for a spot of sight seeing, and boy did we see some sights! A more contradictory place I don’t think I have ever visited, however, so as not to offend any religious people who may be reading, I will say no more!

 

Needless to say we had an interesting day before returning back up the valley and into the gloom once again.

 

Saturday.

Yet more bad weather, we were all getting a little fed up by now; still you have to take what comes in the mountains, so after a quick foray
