into town for provisions and to check the forecast again (not good!) it was off on another sight seeing trip, this time to Luz St. Sauveur where we explored the medieval chapel and ruins of a hill top château. That evening we went to a restaurant in town for a meal. At the mid station it was cold and damp so before going further we put on all our wet weather gear (the second stage was on open chairs). It was worth the cold ride up! We passed over a family of marmots and the views from the top were spectacular, made more so by the dramatic clouds both above and below us. Two large vultures put on a gliding |
