2008 Club BBQ Weekend

Don’t forget the Club barbeque on Saturday 5^th July. It will start at 6:00p.m.and the cottage is available all weekend if you wish to stay over or make a long weekend of it. There will be a nominal charge of £2.00 per person and we would be grateful for volunteers to help clean/wash up and remove rubbish after the event.

 

The club will provide and prepare all food for the event, all you have to do is get yourselves to the cottage with some beer, wine or whatever you fancy and a big bag of sunshine! As in previous years there will be a fine selection of hot and cold food available, with the barbeques once more being manned by John Harrison. relaxing at the Club Cottage thigs didn’t go so well. First there was some concern over the late return of the climbers. They turned up safe and sound of course, but then Ian Currie got into his car and rolled it forward onto a large rock which, inconsiderately, lay out of sight just in front of it at the side of the track across from the cottage. The front of the car was lifted off the ground  and the radiator was holed. After a lot of muttering and commiseration the AA was called and Anne got a lift home with Jim and Betty. The AA response was not as rapid as advertised, so, quite a lot later, Ian walked down to the Black Bull to get a lift home with Peter Fleming, who just happened to be there, returning next morning with the AA to collect his damaged car.
